We teach people from 2 to 99 years old to Tap dance with joy, technique, confidence, and artistic expression. Come dance with us. You’ll be so happy you did!

 
 

Our Story

In 2007, after years of teaching, Jennifer Bishop found the perfect dance space and with it, The Rhythm Room was born. Since that day it has been a home for people to explore all things percussive!

Today, The Rhythm Room is a thriving studio and a supportive, encouraging and inclusive community of amazing people sharing their love of Tap and Percussive Dance. Jennifer is an active owner, performer, teacher, and community member. Her openness and warmth has attracted the kindest group of tap students a teacher could ask for.

Students of all ages and abilities are encouraged to grow through regular weekly classes, workshops with world class instructors, and most recently creating short performance videos.

Jennifer Bishop

Jennifer Bishop has been teaching, performing, adjudicating, choreographing and producing for over 30 years. She is a highly respected dance coach, performer & consultant. Why Gandalf himself (Sir Ian McKellan) has even sought her out for Tap Lessons!

She is the co-founder of THE WEST COAST TAP DANCE COLLECTIVE and has served as Vancouver Co-Representative for THE INTERNATIONAL TAP DANCE ASSOCIATION.

Her choreography credits include numerous commercials, TV shows, feature films and theatre productions. As a performer she has traveled across North America and as far as Taiwan (that time she was a singer with a top 40 funk band!)

She endeavours to stay active as an artist, studying different forms of dance, and working with her husband, pianist/arranger, Bill Costin.
